135 Laps – Feature Race
Great attendance, giving a lot of promise for two-tier championship. Eight drivers were unfortunately had to be cut, due to limited amount of pit boxes at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Most unlucky was Javi Perez, who was beaten by Yann Riou to last qualifying spot by 0.001 seconds.
Race was initially disturbed by a small wreck on the backstretch, but as cars were heading towards the apron iR system did not throw a yellow, and the pack spread up a bit. There was also a “big one” when Andrey Shumarin was pushed off the track, and while tried to save and regain control, he came back across the grass, middle turn 1 causing a big havoc.
The race was frequently stopped by yellow flags, but towards the end, there was an amazing fight between Jake Mccloskey, Paul Wilkins and Antonio Miccolis. One of the longest green run then came to a stop, and with Paul Wilkins pitting for fresh tires, we knew the hunt is on.
Unfortunately, attempt was unsuccesful, and just few laps before end, Jake Mccloskey finished the race under yellow flag, getting his 1st win in iN.eu
